When God first made man, they had a wonderful relationship, enjoying each other’s company, talking and sharing together. There was only 1 thing man was told not to do, and yet man and women did that one thing. With that choice, God’s perfect world was destroyed, evil came in, and man and God ‘s relationship paid the price.
As time has gone on, God has kept calling out to man, that he was there, that he wanted to walk this life with his creation, with people, and some heard his voice, but others ignored him.
So 2000 years ago, God sent his own son into this world, Jesus, to destroy the root of the problem between man and God, the selfishness and disobedience man seemed to want to live in. Jesus showed us what God was really like, he loved people, healed them and met their physical and spiritual needs, young and old, rich and poor. Still some hated him, but many received him gladly.
The Bible is quite clear that God knew Jesus would be killed on a cross, and in so doing he took the punishment man deserved, and made a way for everyone who would come, to enter into a relationship with God. He would take away, forgive all our sin, and in it’s place would call us his own dearly, loved children.
If you believe in him, that he died for you and ask for his forgiveness, putting your life in his hands, he has promised he will forgive and wash you clean. If you would like to do this, here is a prayer you can use, but do tell someone what you have done and find a good church that will be family to you and help you to know God better.
I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. Thank you Lord for loving me, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.
